SPANISH DAMS CONFERENCE

Land Water and Dams, attends the XIII Jornadas Españolas de Presas organized by SPANCOLD

The XIII Conference on Dams

Last June, Land, Water and Dams attended the XIII Jornadas Españolas de Presas represented by its founding partners, Mr. José Luis Lorenzo Riera and Mr. Enrique Giménez Cañete.

The conference has been held every three years since 1985. This thirteenth edition, magnificently organised by the Spanish National Committee on Large Dams (SPANCOLD), the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) and the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation (CHE), was held in Barcelona from 17 to 20 June 2024.

The presence and, where appropriate, the presentations of nearly 500 Spanish professionals and a relevant international representation contributed to an in-depth treatment of the issues related to large hydraulic regulation works, their adaptation to the climate through the regulation of surface water resources and renewable and sustainable hydroelectric generation.

Previously, on 17 June, the SPANCOLD technical committees met, bringing together 200 experts linked to the committee, including our director José Luis Lorenzo Riera.
